I have a healthy venus fly trap which currently lives in our bedroom under a daylight lamp. I move it into the conservatory to go dormant over winter. The plant seems very happy with this arrangement.
My husband is changing to shift work meaning he'll need to sleep during the day so having a daylight lamp coming on is not ideal. Our bedroom is the only room in the house where the cats aren't allowed to go, and when they were younger, they had a habit of messing with (chewing, knocking pots off windowsills etc) my plants.
I've seen people create indoor greenhouses out of things like this:

However I think people can maintain humidity in these and that's not ideal for the fly trap.
I could get one of these and replace some of the panels with a mesh perhaps, but I've had one before and the cats would climb all over it.

Any ideas?
