Feeding still-alive bugs to your Venus Flytrap is always the best because your plant not only eats the bug's nutrients, but it also gets the power from the soul.

But sometimes the bug is a clever one and escapes from the trap before it fully closes and doesn't get caught! Bummer!


What you can do though, is catch a bug in a little container and put it in your freezer for a little bit. The cold temperature makes the bug fall temporarily unconscious, during which you can drop it in the trap. It will wake up later to its doom!

If you don't chill it long enough, it will wake up too soon. You can tell when it's waking up when its legs slowly start moving. Then you have about 30 seconds to a minute before it's awake and flies away. Leave it in the freezer too long, however, and it will never wake up. : [
