I got a dunecraft carnivorous creations kit for my b day today and on the seed packet it said 'PACKED FOR 2008' do you think the seeds would germinate? and also my parents ordered it from a uk website on the internet which sells gifts and gadgets.

You'll likely get some minimal amount of germination, but I'd not be surprised if you don't get any. Seed from 2008 is pretty old and since it hasn't been properly stored, it won't likely be viable.

They should have kept it refrigerated - refrigerated flytrap seeds can remain viable for years. From other stories I've heard (one member posted something recently), you'll get germination from dunecraft kits but it takes 4-6 weeks.

that's why i didnt get the Dune Craft kit. Seeds take weeks for it to sprout. I like get carnivorous plants that are already "adults"

Oh sorry for not posting about my progress.
I just took out the cold stratified sarr seeds out of the fridge today morning a placed them onto the growing medium.
About the vft and sundew seeds, none of them have germinated yet.
