Hi all,

First off, there have been many nice photos posted. I would also like to thank all the people that are giving prizes for the winners of the second photo contest, which looks like its going to be much bigger then the first.

This little guy was snooping in my cephalouts pot, i took this shot almost in complete darkness. I used a Canon PowerShot SD 1200 IS Digital Elph 10.0 mega pixels camara.

USA
Photo taken on 8-4-10
I got this plant on 1-23-10

My entry - Taken almost exactly a month ago. I took several snaps of Akuma's traps, in macro mode, and got some great nectar shots. This is my favorite, but others are good as well. I'll probably post those in the photos section down the road. I've had this plant since late Nov 2009.

Camera used - Canon 1400IS (macro mode - auto settings) - my first new Digital Camera in 8 years. Eventually I want to capture 720p video of the traps closing on a fly :-).

I thought this photo would be good because it's of my kitten and my fly trap - both of which I got in May 2010. My kitten is the bane of my my plants existence - considering that before I constructed my fly trap's lantern terrarium, my kitten was adamant on chewing on and pulling out my fly trap from it's pot . Now that the terrarium has been protecting my plant it has been able to flourish. The photo has a bit of cliched good vs. evil contrast going on too - specifically the bright heavenly light emitting from the lightbulb versus the entirely black kitten - not only are black cats considered to be unlucky, but this particular kitten's name is Lucifer, hahah.

This is a picture of my Sarracenia unknown hybrid, that I have had for a little under a year taken with my
Canon Power Shot A1000 IS
After much decision I finally decided on this picture taken 8/8/2010 at 4:55 PM , 1/60 sec exposure time, Flash, and ISO speed ISO-80.
It was very hard picking out my favorite photo, but I finally decided one. Also thanks to all the kind people that have agreed to give out the prizes.

I picked this one because you could see the nice leaves of the plant, but mostly what I think is the center of the photo the eerie dead fly in the middle.
