i tried to upload a ppic of mine but couldt so i found someone who had a pic tht looked like it http://www.flytrapcare.com/phpBB3/edges ... t4867.html my vft looks alot like tis and im giving it the rite water ad fertilizer anyone no whot could be wrong i need help

It could be many, many things. It could be salt burn. It could be that the traps are old. It could be that the plant is dropping a few leaves due to shock.

Exactly what kind of water and fertilizer are you giving it? VFTs don't need any fertilizer at all.

Good questions Mia. I didn't read the first post thoroughly and missed the bit about fertilizer. That's a very important statement to consider (along with the type of water).

im giving it distilled water and no fertilizer its in pear moss with a little perlite, could it be because it was at a nursary so it might not be adjusted to the sun yet????

yes i dont think it has had much sun before now but also the new traps are coming in very small. is this natural? there isnt any big ones coming in and all the big ones are slowly turning black like in the picture

It's normal for the bigger, older traps to die off, especially when going through something stressful like a new environment or being repotted. Smaller traps could mean the plant has divided, or maybe another reaction to a new environment. Just be patient. You'll get your big traps.

haha ye i thing it has divided cuz a bunch of the leaves are like grow over top each other and its all uneven

It's pretty common for the plant sacrifice a few leaves with a large change in environment. Additionally new traps are also smaller than more mature traps. They grow after they've opened.

oh they do really i didnt no tht alright thx and ye alot of knew ones are coming in and they arent turning black any more so i think it is sending in a bunch to adapt or somthing and thx
