Good questions Mia. I didn't read the first post thoroughly and missed the bit about fertilizer. That's a very important statement to consider (along with the type of water).

yes i dont think it has had much sun before now but also the new traps are coming in very small. is this natural? there isnt any big ones coming in and all the big ones are slowly turning black like in the picture

It's normal for the bigger, older traps to die off, especially when going through something stressful like a new environment or being repotted. Smaller traps could mean the plant has divided, or maybe another reaction to a new environment. Just be patient. You'll get your big traps. :)

It's pretty common for the plant sacrifice a few leaves with a large change in environment. Additionally new traps are also smaller than more mature traps. They grow after they've opened.
