I pointed this thread out to Colin as I feel people should be allowed to defend themselves. This was his reply:
Thanks for sharing. I found the thread you're talking about on flytrapstore; If customers are purchasing and transplanting Sarracenia mid to late summer it's no surprise that they don't show vigorous growth until the next growing season. In fact, it would be better for the plants to cut them back entirely to force them to expend energy on establishing roots. No one one likes to get a plant with no leaves in the mail, though.
All the plants we ship are guaranteed to be healthy and pest free on arrival or we replace them no questions asked. I can afford to do that because I can only remember two occasions in the past several years (and tens of thousands of plants we've shipped) where I had a complaint about pests. Obviously, I'd encourage you to form your own judgement but I think there's a fair amount of shilling for flytrapstore on their own forums.
