Cupped traps?

This flytrap seems to have cupped traps when i got it, but it keeps putting out cupped traps so does that mean its normal or is something wrong with it?

There's nothing wrong with it, but those aren't cupped traps either.
There is a Cupped cultivar, and the ends of each trap wing is very much fused to the other, to the point that the trap can almost fill with water. Yours is simply showing some characteristics other than the classic flytrap.

Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes the reason is that I make bad decisions.
