Hey all,

I got a very young B52 VFT at the end of summer, and I was just wondering, do I let it go through dormancy? It's still growing pretty well in its 2 inch pot, but it's kind of small still and this is my first time with dormancy, so I wasn't sure if I should just leave it outside when it starts getting colder. I do have a Yescom 225 growlight indoors if I should move it indoors instead for this winter.

Also is that weird 4 leaf thing growing in the pot with it a weed?

I'd bring it in once it touches 50 degrees F. Let it go through dormancy. It should be just fine. Remember to follow your natural photoperiod with your light.

IMO that is not even close to small enough to skip dormancy safely. When people say "It is completely safe to skip dormancy with smaller plants", they mean under 2 years old, usually for seedlings sowed in winter.

Got it, thanks for the advice guys! I guess I'll just keep it outside with the other VFTs and if it starts to get into the freezing temps, I'll just move it into my unheated garage.
