Hey all,

I was thinking about getting a soil moisture meter to help me check on my carnivorous plants, but I was doing some googling and saw mentions that carnivorous plant mixes with perlite and stuff usually lacks the salts needed for unpowered meters to work properly. Are there any models that work well with carnivorous plant mixes, like peat moss/perlite?

Dont bother with water meters, as sarracenia, Cephalotus, VFTs and terrestrial untrics, have a wide band of tolerance tending to the wet side. During the growing season, they should be stood in water so will be wet, in winter they need to be damp which is easy to judge by eye or with your finger.
Any meter during the growing season will read wet, and they should never go dry.
