Hi my name is Ian and I have just bought a Venus flytrap for the first time . I live in Sheffield South Yorkshire England

Welcome to the forum! You will find lots of great information here. If you haven't already, read the care guide at https://www.flytrapcare.com/. Taking care of a flytrap boils down to 3 basic things: full sunlight, nutrient poor media (sphagnum or peat moss), and mineral free water. If you can provide all three then you will have good luck growing them.
