So i have this left over sand from when i was using it to mix with paint for non slip....
just curious if its usable on VFTs?

Sure looks like pure silica, so I'd guess it would be fine to use. However, it looks to be 30 grit or maybe 20 grit which is a bit small to be ideal. I've used both in the past, along with 12 grit, and the plants prefer 12 grit. 20 grit works OK but 30 grit is a bit too fine and seems to actually increase compaction of the soil rather than help break it up.
