I repotted my vft plants about 4 weeks ago in sphagnum moss (cheap stuff but plants seem to like it). I increased the pot size to 3 1/2" wide x 3 1/2" deep. My B52 has really taken off since but i noticed a root growing through the drain hole is this an issue for vft and should i upsize again? dont want to stress them while they are growing well if I don't have to. Thanks

If you have room to do it, I'd definitely use a larger pot. You can repot it without disturbing it at all by simply taking the entire clump of sphagnum out of the current pot and putting it in the new pot then filling in the sphangum (or whatever medium you use in the larger pot) around the current pot clump of medium.

Thanks Matt that's what I'll do then. Ive got plenty of sphagnum and I've got 5" wide by 4.5" deep pots or 6" wide by 5" deep which do you think is best. I've got enough room for them in my grow space but would 6" be overkill. Thanks a lot for the reply. :D

Thanks for the tip Matt worked well apart from I managed to snap a leaf somehow lucky it was old and blackening on the trap edges lol. I went for the larger pot and actually I don't think it looks overkill at all. Thanks again.😁

Looks great!!! For my biggest and most favorite plants, I put them in 12-inch and 10-inch pots. They love the extra room and insulation they provide and grow to very large sizes in those pots. You plant should do very, very well in that large pot.

I've got about 8 cultivars in my collection so far and plenty of these larger pots so i will repot them all. Only concern is a couple of my vft are very small young plants are they still fine in the large pot. Thanks
