I am a first time owner of a Venus fly trap and Last month I took my flytrap out of hibernation (I live in an extremely cold climate so I had to do some things manually) I was wondering if after a month of being out of hibernation if it is fine if my new traps are still very small. I would think that by this point they would be normal sized and open and ready to catch bugs but I guess not.

Depending on how old your flytrap is, It could take some time until it starts producing larger traps. Some pics would help solve the issue though.

It could also not be getting enough light, you can tell if they need more light if they have very small traps at the end of the leaf or the leaves are very wide.

As others have already written, there are a number of reasons that the new traps could be small. If you could post a good, clear photo of your plant, that would go a long way for people to be able to give targeted feedback as to what might (or might not!) be ailing your Venus flytrap.
