I visited New Orleans once, the week after Mardis Gras.
Every tree I saw in the French Quarter was festooned with bead necklaces.
It was quite a sight.

If Shadowtsky had visited St. Charles Ave, the route of more than a dozen Mardi Gras parades, he could barely see the giant ancient oaks because of beads and necklaces hanging from every branch. Next visit to New Orleans come on Kings' Day, January 6th, and enjoy the entire Mardi Gras season which ends midnight before Ash Wednesday. Party Hardy.
