Hello,
I'm having issues with some of my Drosera cultures, most of them germinate and grow pretty well but then start to decline and die after few months. Two D.neocaledonica (germinated on this medium) died in few days after replating (they were on the same media before) but the others continued to grow well for a bit. Now they are starting to get yellow, then brown and die.
I received D.chrysolepis already on a medium where it was growing really well, now you can see how they are on mine.
I'm using the following medium:
1/4 MS (1/4 macro, 1/4 micro, 1/4 vitamins)
25 g/L sucrose
0.5 mL/L PPM
5.2 g/L agar (standard tissue culture grade)
pH 5.7

Shoud I decrease the concentration of MS media?

they look nice to me and I use about the same medium as you only thing different is I use 1ml/L of PPM. I have only germinated and grown burmannii, filiformis red and spatulatas but they all grew until they filled up the jars. I left some alone for almost a year.

The two neocaledonica at the top are still ok, but you can see that they are all turning yellow (the others) an the die (the brown one). That chrysolepis seems Red but it's actually brown/dead, only the green leaf is alive. That Is definitely not ok. On the previous (unknown to me) media they were growing normally, as non-in-vitro plants. If I don't understand quickly what's wrong I'm going to loose them in a month probably.

Sounds like a thick media. Maybe reduce the agar.

I’d take out the sugar. Then see if any contamination appears.

For all of our Drosera we use the same media.
1/2 MS + vitamins
30 g/L sugar (25 is fine, no less)
We switched from 6g/L agar to 2.5 g/L Gelzan. Either works fine Gelzan is water clear when it sets up.
5.6 pH
16hr on/8hr off photo period. Make sure you have a quality timer, and the intensity isnt too great. If lamps are less than a foot away from cultures, they may be too close.
Mid 70's temp.
