need more info.

Did it go dry?
Did it go from a store with no light to bright light?
Did you water it with hard water?
Did you put fertilizer on it?
Did you repot it and if so in what?
Where are you keeping it?
How many hours of direct sun does it receive.
Whats the TDS of the water you are using.

Without any additional information yet, it looks like to me that it got burned without proper acclimation to the outside sun. If this is the case, as long as you see new growth in the middle that's not turning black, it'll be fine. The newer traps and petioles will be hardy and less prone on getting burnt by the sun. However, if you do see the new growth points getting black on the tips, give it less light by putting it in a shade. So, morning sun until noon and the rest will be shaded.

The soil is still wet
I don’t know what store it came from, it was a birthday gift
No we haven’t needed to water it yet
We haven’t reported or put new fertilizer in it yet( what would you recommend for that?)
Right now I’m keeping in my windowsill because I think it got burnt, it’s 85-90 degrees out and my mom had left it outside for quite some time.

well it sounds like light burn, a lot of places that don't specialize in carnivorous plants keep them in no or low light. they are full sun plants but they have to be accumulated or this happens. I am betting the damage is done and your old growth will just turn black regardless of what you do now. watch it over the next three days if this is the case just leave it in full sun to speed recovery. I will add same pics after this post of one i got from Lowes, I did a total burn, and recovered. Its a slow recovery and it will snowball more growth you get faster it will grow.
