I cut the flower stem off my VFT stuck it in peat/sand mix and about 9 months later... walla.
only problem its been this size for about 2 years, is this normal?

How deep is the pot? If the pot is too shallow, the roots can't keep growing downward and that may limit the size of the plant.

Another thing is that flytrap's grow fairly slowly due to the soil being very poor and the first few traps are always too small to catch much more than the smallest insects/prey.

It looks like you have several plantlets that grew from the flowerstalk. I'm guessing it could also be that the plantlets are a bit overcrowded being so close together.
