My wife has been indifferent to me getting back into carnivorous plants, but she didn't say anything when I went beyond where I was previously.
She is also not a fan of spiders.
So, with just one pic, she now sees my plants in a different light. Perhaps she can come to love my plants.

I'm one who would rescue a spider from such a fate. Rather have them around to contribute to bug control.

As long as they're outside, they're safe. But, once inside, they must die. (As decreed by the wife)
Happy wife, happy life. Unhappy wife, stone cold misery for the rest of my life.
