Hello all! I first got interested in carnivorous plants sometime last fall. I ended up not getting my first plants - a venus flytrap and a butterwort - just this past May. Sadly, I hadn't really researched care and was just starting finals at my college at that time, so they both died. Things were hectic for a while what with moving cities since it was my last year and by the time I thought about getting a new plant I figured I would just add it to my Christmas list first and see if that panned out. Lo and behold I got a sundew as an early gift since they didn't want to risk it dying before the 25th.

As promised, the very short list is:
Drosera Adelae (which I nicknamed 'Drowsy')

A picture from day 1: A picture from day 4: I've been surprised out how fast it's grown. It's drained the water tray 4 times since I've had it, and I've watered it three - I'm trying to avoid over-watering, but it seems to be happy with every or every other day so far. I fed it the worm that you can see on the upper-left leaf 2 days ago and it never wrapped around it, which was concerning. But it has been perking up and the worm looks shrunk, though I don't know if that is just because it dried out again. It is potted in Sphagnum moss and I'm using a fluorescent bulb in a desk lamp to provide it with light - since it's winter, and where I live has decided to become a second Washington state in terms of cloud coverage and rain.
