after worrying too much about our plants outdoors for dormancy + the stray dog tramplings decided the bulk of the outdoor plants of the kid and I's will be moved to my workshop behind the house. fully insulated, with power to it still gets to near freezing in there with no heat on bu no extreme shifts and no wind
ended up finding 5 6 bulb 4 foot T5HO fixtures with a slew of bulbs for a very reasonable price locally (well an hour from us!) and will be wiring up two of those to handle this time period -- with eventual usage of lights for some of our indoor stuff/seeds/moss
now onward to the questions! I've searched every which way I can on the forums in the past, but at what distance from tops of plants do you keep your T5HO lights? we have a few larger rack shelving units also may eventually switch to using those indoors in my office or our kitchen - just debating on what kind of clearance I should expect to keep the plants happy. we have a small variety of most types of carnivores but the main bulk is venus flytraps still.
