Hey everyone, I'm Phil. I've been growing nepenthes for about a year now and have 10 different plants. I've been growing everything on a wire rack that's been wrapped in plastic and is pretty unsightly. My fiancé was tired of looking at it, so I just ordered a 36x18x36 terrarium and wanted to start an account here to gain knowledge about everyone's setups.

Hello! I live in Southgate, and I just received my first ever carnivorous plant, nepenthes alata. Do you have any advice? I'm worried my house won't have enough humidity. I have it in a bay window where I keep many other plants, so I'm hoping that will keep the humidity up for it. What do you think?

Nepenthes like at least 80% humidity to pitcher. Nepenthes alata is a very easy plant to take care of. Before you know it you'll have several vining growth points on it.
