This is almost 1.5 times the size of the pitcher before. So far this plant only holds one pitcher at a time. Probably due to the 'house' conditions. Primarily low RH. Still love these pitchers though.

Grocery store Phal. Got it traveling for work. A roommate almost melted it and succeeded in melting two others. But somehow it managed to spring back and bud and flower from last seasons' spike. Nice flower.

I think that's it. Feels like I'm forgetting some things but that's most of em for sure. Thanks for looking. I'll be adding more pictures as I take them and as I dig them out of the phone.

Happy Growing!

Very creative with how you're organizing the list via conditions/ locations.

The pics are delightful as well!

Thanks! I was hoping it might be helpful to folks who are just starting out with a particular plant, or wanting to get something on the list, to see one of the ways they can be grown. The community here has been very helpful and welcoming and without it I wouldn't be able to grow half of the wonderful plants on the list. Just trying to give back a little wherever I can.

Thanks for the comment and the compliments!

Happy growing!

Questions from a beginner

1. What are you using to create humidity?
2. Can you take a picture of your enclosure from a distance? Or parts of it?
3. How do you control the temperature?
Thanks

I use 2 sonic foggers and one repti-fogger from Zoomed for humidification.

The short answer for temps is I started out with a modified mini fridge and am currently using a liquid cooled system chilled by a chest freezer. The system is built from scratch basically and is controlled by a Herpstat 6 from Spyder Robotics in conjunction with a HydroX by Trolmaster.

There are a few pictures of the enclosure and the one of the versions of the cooling system in the build thread here -
highland-system-t32775.html
However I do need to update the thread since the switch to liquid cooled.

That’s quite the system you have. A very impressive collection of plants also.

I’m looking at your plants in your east facing window.

I’m definitely going to try the pings and Neps.

I’m looking for something that’s challenging?
Any ideas?

Thanks. Jean

Are you looking for challenging Pings and Neps or challenging CPs? I don't know much about Pings. I only keep the two types. As far as "challenging" Neps go, it can be difficult to acclimate a highlander to a windowsill. It can be done. I haven't tried it yet. I would recommend checking out the "nepenthes around the house" site. He goes over it pretty thoroughly.

I am of the opinion that all plants can be easy or challenging depending on the degree to which you are able to meet each plants' specific requirements. That said, given your natural conditions in your grow area I suppose the challenge would be to push the limits of the plants you like and the conditions you are able to manipulate and see what you can grow within that envelope. For me, that is Cephalotus. They did great in San Jose. They're hanging on by a thread here. Heliamphora have done great for me in both locations but some folks struggle to keep them alive and have no problem with Cephalotus. I guess that mystery is a big part of the draw for many of us. It seems we always want to grow whatever it is that doesn't naturally do well for us.

Just my opinion. Happy growing!
