Hello PitcherFreak and welcome to FlytrapCare!

Congrats on your new Sarracenia purpurea. They have the same basic care requirements as Venus flytraps:
1) Lots of sunlight
2) Clean water (distilled water, rain water or reverse osmosis water only)
3) Nutrient poor soil (peat moss and perlite in a 50:50 mix work well)
4) A dormancy period of 3 to 4 months.

If you've read "The Savage Garden" from Peter D' Amato, then you probably have a lot of knowledge already. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. And again, welcome to flytrapcare!

Hi Pitcherfreak,
Welcome. What's your name? where are you from?
I think a lot of people once had carnivorous plants when they were younger and are now acquiring them again. I did the same thing when I was younger with my venus flytraps.
Now I am collecting CP's plants. I just placed an order of a variety of CP's.
I was thinking of getting the book The Savage Garden. Is the book worth purchasing?
