Hey guys,

I bought some VFT seeds that where from a Green Swamp Clone and is it possible for them to reach an almost mature size within 2 years? I bought them from BestCarnivorousPlants.com

I had them outside for dormancy this year and recently brought them back inside for them to wake up and they had a huge explosion in growth but the traps are already getting big. About an inch already. Is it normal for normal forms to grow this fast? I am wondering if some where mislabeled? or perhaps I just got a really good seeds?

I am also thinking I may have had them for about 3 years now and I just lost track of time lol. I should have put the date on when I planted them!

Maturity in two years is possible with optimum light, feeding, and skipping dormancy the first year. Very experienced growers have done it.

I'm not familiar with Green Swamp Clone, but if it's a large trap variety, those genes almost certainly got passed onto its seedlings.

Sometimes VFTs seem to find a sweet spot in the soil where they seemingly unexplainably just rapidly grow multiple sizes larger. I suspect a deep, healthy dormancy might be a required factor for this.

The best example I have is I had two G14 Rosetted cultivars that went from nearly baby size to adult from winter to fall in one year.
