Very nice... Having done some Nepenthes watercolor before, I would suggest that you decide now if you want the painting to be somewhat transparent or solid. If you want it to be somewhat transparent, I would recommend doing a lot of light washes before adding the main colors. If you want it to be more solid, you could start mixing thicker paint now instead of waiting. Colors will get very muddy if you have to do a lot of fix-up painting in between.

Just my experience.

I've never really gone in with a set way of doing paintings lol never really thought about it. I love using gouache paint with my watercolors

And that's really the best way to do it. Overthinking things is the enemy of art, I'm really just sharing what I've found out with painting CPs.

Thank you! This is my first time painting any CP for me so I'm trying to do my best to go off my visuals. I might do a few paintings just to try different techniques.
