Sorry. Added "with visual proof" in the topic title. With visual proof meaning that you can go there and explore it, some needed permision.

I'm pretty sure you can visit Roanoke, they have boat tours...

I said abandoned places, meaning no humans. You risk to go in legally or not !

This is an interesting post roarke. I know there is an island off of Japan that's been abandoned since WWII. I'll try to did up the link.

It's a "ghost town" but I guess technically, being that it's a state park it's still suffering from some form of human occupation however I don't believe the park rangers live there. Still, it's definitely worth a peek.
