Looks like a handy system though I don't think a DI cartridge would be necessary for plants. Perhaps for the aquarium?

I should look into getting one myself considering I'm going to run out of rainwater before the end of the month and it's unlikely I'll be able to refill my rain barrel for more than a month after that.

I had a similar system and when the resin eventually gave out I didnt replace it, with no detriment to the water or the plants, I don't know about your type of fish though.

Cheers

I did some reading about that particular filter. It seems the fittings it comes with are rather cheap and wear out quickly, which isn't surprising given the price. DI filters in general also don't last nearly as long as RO filters so you'd be needing to replace the DI cartridge every couple hundred gallons, however long it takes you to go through that much water.
