Yellow Jackets

My sarrs are loaded with yellow jackets, far more than I've ever seen.
I took these pics this morning grabbing 4 random pitchers and all 4 of them contained yellow jackets.

It looks like they're looking for a home, If you see them starting to build hives I recommend setting up a wasp catcher. A few might make good food for your plants but hives of them will be a problem fast.

The ones in these photos are alive, but there are tons if dead ones in the rest of the pitchers.

I'll keep my eyes open for hives, thanks.

I have found that the yellow jackets are especially atracted to the yellow S. flavas. My S. flava var. maxima caught a ton of them, so many that the leaves were falling over from so much food,

I recently purchased a nice S. flava. It's in the early stages of growth right now but I can't wait till it starts catching wasps and other winged insects!
