I read in Savage garden that peter at cc uses maxsea fertilizer and that it doesn't kill sphag like all most brands of fertilizer, but it makes it grow. Has anyone ever used this brand? Just curious

Depends on the species of plant. For Dionaea and Drosera, I usually mist or spray them with it. For Sarracenia and Heliamphora, I pour into the soil (also into the pitchers of Heliamphora). Cephalotus, usually in the pitchers, but sometimes soil saturation as well.
