If petals curl inward, does that mean that pollination has succeeded? And as they curl, they should darken and die?

Been pollinating my flowers with pollen from same flower and the result is not the same as in photo3. they seem to shrink and darken. Guess i need to pollinate the flower's stigma (when it looks fuzzy) with pollen from another flower?

Will upload photos later. Thanks.

No, not necessarily. The petals always curl inward regardless of pollination.

Yes, that's correct.
