There are quite a few different species of carnivorous plants that grow well together. All Sarracenia (pitcher plants) and Dionaea can grow well together. I think most Drosera (sundews) can also grow with Dionaea and Sarracenia, but a few have different growing requirements. What type of sundew are you looking at getting?

Matt, i think she said mixing as in puting two plants together to make weird seeds. i don't know what it's called but you know how there are so many different kinds of fly traps? she wants to know if you can combine the different carnivorous plants. get it?

Ah yes, that's called cross-pollinating. You can't cross pollinate different families of plants (like Venus Fly Traps and Sundews), but you can cross pollinate most species within a family. For Dionaea, there is only one species (muscipula), so it really isn't cross pollination.

why is it that you can't mix the two different kinds of carnivorous plants?

I think the case with the majority of plants and animals is that breeding outside of the species isn't possible. There are a few cases that I can think of that break this exception in the animal kingdom (i.e. horses and donkey make a mule, lions and tigers make ligers), but I'm not sure about plants.
