VFT isnt eating bugs, help?#116350

my VFT isnt eating its food, i usually feed it ants, it will close on the bug then a couple days later the trap opens back up with the ant dead in it. any help?

Flytraps don't completely digest their prey. They only absorb the soft parts and the reopen with the carcass still in the trap.

It may look like the ant didnt get eaten, but it did.

The plant's primitive digestive enzymes can't digest the insect's exoskeleton methinks
