Hi all, I ran across this item today. It's being touted as a self-watering planter for growing herbs etc indoors. Has anyone heard about this? The LEDs seem a bit underpowered but it's an interesting concept that *might* work for sundews and/or pings.
It's still being developed with Kickstarter funding.
Full disclosure: I'm not associated with the product in any way.

I tried to find a still pic of the system, but the Kickstarter page just has videos and I'm too lazy today to edit a screenshot.
If you search for "Plantone planter" it'll be at the top of the results.

I agree that the lights are woefully inadequate. It makes me think of a miniaturized EarthBox with a light added to it. Basically tray watering like we do now but with the tray internal. I built one a few years ago out of an 18-gallon plastic tote for tomatoes. Of course the Plantkne is for much smaller scale plants. Maybe the guys will do good with it. :)
