Hi Guys. I been having my vft for a couple months now. They have been doing good till recent. Trap start to close with nothing cat ugh to inside. And I start to see deformed traps as well. They still put up new traps, but new traps die soon after opening(close for no reason and then die). Any one has idea what's going on?

It could be aphids. There’s some white spots near the crown of your plant that could be aphid sheds. I can’t tell from the pics. Do you have any other vft doing this? It could just be a fussy red vft. Some of my red typicals will do this for an entire growing season and then be fine the next year. If you’re growing in a terrarium, your plant would probably be happier in a tall, white, plastic or styrofoam pot. Let its roots stretch down.

Thanks so much for your response. I think the white bit is just a sand. All my other vft are happy, except for two of them. This one would not close and have deformed traps(totally healthy before re-potting). Another one would close for no reason.

If it was only after a repot this started happening, then it is probable that it is shock. Maybe wait a little for newer growth and see if it is recovered.

I can only see twisting on a couple traps, so it's most likely just a little hiccup in how those traps are expressed.
However, that plant is planted too deep. The white part of the rhizome should be even with the surface of the soil.
Otherwise, it looks good.
