I need some advice please. I received a venus flytrap and pitcher plant in the mail that had been in the frig for dormancy. My question is: Would it be better to leave them in the refrigerator until spring, or plant them up and put them in the attic with the rest of my dormant plants? BTW attic temp was about 45 degrees today. Outside highs are in the 20's all week this week, so the attic is close to frig temps. I'm just not sure if they would be happier in peat, suffer severe transplant shock, or if it wouldn't make much of a difference. TIA

It's likely not going to matter too much whether you put them in the fridge or in the attic. I'm against putting any plant in the fridge, so if they were my plants, I would opt for the attic. But if the attic is pretty dark, it's probably not going to make much difference.

I would put it in the attic because I am all against fridge dormancy.

Actually the attic has two regular size windows on each end one east and one west. We are having an early cold snap that will probably last until March, lol, and it is cold up there. I did buy a thermometer to see just how cold it will end up getting before winter ends. OK, I'm going to pot them up and put them up there with the others. Just wasn't sure if I was helping them, or hurting them. I wouldn't have chosen to get them now. Someone I traded with in the summer had forgotten me and suddenly remembered me now, poor things.
