Is this a new growth? A new vft? #339414

So I've noticed what looks like a new crown or spiral of fresh green leaves growing with Cecil, my vft. What could it be??? Is he splitting? Do i need to repot? It's the middle of summer so might wait on that, plus i just repotted him last month or so.

He's also looking redder because the back door was finally fixed this week so i baked him in the sun a bit.

What are those green little leaves?

Proud of him too! He's come a long way since the hardware store. They don't seem to be stocking vfts anymore, probably unpopular cos they pot them in the wrong soil so they die quickly. Glad i managed to salvage Cecil tho.

I think i might have chosen a difficult plant to start my gardening journey with. But I'm happy he's rallying!
