just got a new VFT and was planning to grow in my office. I have a window sill where it will get plenty of light aso my question is about feeding. Is it ok to feed it mealy worms and do they require a varied diet as well? Also, what about the dormant period if it's going to be indoors? Thanks

If your window gets plenty of sun, like a South facing window, it should be fine.

Yes, you can feed it mealworms or nearly any other live bug.
Bug should be moving when you put it in the trap, or it may not close and trigger the
digestion process.

One little bug every couple of weeks is enough energy for your plant (depending on age
and health)

I do not see your location, so dont know your weather conditions, so I dont know your growing
season period.
If your windowsill gets cold enough, yes, it will go dormant. If you can open the window just
a crack to let in more cold, since you are indoors in a heated building, you could keep it
cool just on the windowsill. Sometimes that works for my other plants.

If you have a theromometer, you could put it on your windowsill with the plant.

If it had a normal, healthy growing season, it should naturaly go dormant when the days get
shorter and temps drop, just be sure to keep it moist (not wet) when it's cold, and in the spring
it should wake up just fine :)
