Has anyone ever heard of using hydrogen peroxide as a fungicide prior to placing seeds in the cold stratification. I was reading this article http://www.gardenzine.co.uk/peroxide.html
He also claims higher germination percentages... Just wondering ?

You can't go! All the plants are gonna die!

Rob Co of The Sarracenia Project mixes a bit of hydrogen peroxide with water when stratifying his seeds. I took his advice and did the same with my own this year. I still got some mold on my seeds, so keep checking them periodically, no matter what!

As for higher germination, I can't speculate on that. I've never seen Rob mention it either.

H2O2 hasn't helped much in terms of fungicide or mold for me. It may depend on the type of fungus or mold it reacts with. On the bright side it effectively kills algae

I've never had fungus affect a plant but I bought a Bayer fungicide that was recommended by someone else in case I ever do have an issue. I've never needed to use it so I can't really tell you how effective it is
