I bought a humidifier for my greenhouse and i was wondering if i have to use distilled water in the humidifier or can i use tap water since its a fine mist? I have the humidifier on high and set to 60%

Dissolved solids in the water will remain in the humidifier and build up over time. They would require temperatures far in excess of what a humidifier can produce to vaporize. It will probably require periodic cleaning if you use tap water. I have never used a humidifier myself though so hopefully someone else can give you some tips.

I think most humidifiers recommend that you use distilled or RO water to avoid mineral buildup in the machine. Plus I'm sure your carnivores will appreciate it.

It all depends on the type of humidifier. If it uses a membrane to excite water and turn it to a mist, the water will also have a high TDS messure. If it uses heat to produce vapor, the mist will be hot, but with no solids. The solids will build up in the humidifier.
Either way, I suggest you use RO water
