Hello all. I just got a Venus Fly Trap from Kroger. It was a spur of the moment thing. I went online to find out how to take care of it and found this site. I have a terrerium I'm going to keep my plant in. Just now I gave it a leafhopper.
I'll be interesting in reading your stories and learning from you.

If you do a bit of reading here, you might change your mind. Venus flytraps don't make very good terrarium pets. You're better off growing your plant outside in full sun or in a very sunny windowsill.

Hi and welcome to the site!
Good luck with your plant and let us know how it goes..there are lots of different ways to grow VFT's but with the terrarium method you have to make sure that they don't get too wet and/or too hot. VFt's like it moist but it is also good to let them get lots of fresh air circulation and to dry out a bit.

Please keep us udpated on your plant's progress!
Peace!

Welcome! Glad you joined us, and yeah...ditch the terrarium ASAP, it is 100% myth that VFTs thrive in terrariums...they crave fresh air!!! If you haven't already, check out the articles on the front page of the site...they will steer you in the right direction. If you want to know more about why terrariums are no good, listen to what the guys over at www.cobraplant.com have to say!
