I’ll be getting my first non-typical VFT for my birthday from a friend (I picked out a B52, I love how they look)

Do they need more sun than a typical flytrap? My main concern is not being able to grow it to it’s full potential and colours with me living in Scotland, not a place well known for lots of sunshine

It doesn't require any more light that other flytraps. If you are able to grow it outdoors in full sun for 6 to 8 hours a day, it should get plenty of light, even with it being cloudy. Indoors you would need bright lights for at least 12 hours per day to get good color.
