My daughter asked me that the other day, she then accused me of liking my plants more than I like her.
Not wanting to pass up a perfect opening like that, I agreed that I do like my plants more than I like her, because:
1. The plants don't talk back.
2. They are happy with the sunlight they receive and the water I keep them supplied with.
3. The plants don't want a surf and turf dinner like she does (OK, I wanted that one too. T-bone Oscars, yum!)
4. The plants will never require me to buy a car for them to drive, nor pay for the gas, tires, oil, upkeep, and insurance for that car.
5. Plus, the plants won't need me to pay for college unlike my biological offspring.
She faked being mad for a bit, but got over it by the time dinner was ready (see above referenced meal). The next morning, she loaded up my car and went back to UK in Lexington.
Bless her little tattooed heart.

Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes the reason is that I make bad decisions.
