Good afternoon. I'm fairly new to carnivorous plants, I've had a couple in my life but they never survived long. My wife recently bought me a VFT and I want to work to get this one to survive.

I've had my Dente for about a week and have had a lot of the traps turn black. I cut them off as per everything I've read and I'm hoping it was just from the shipping and everything that was going on.

I look forward to gaining information from here so I can keep several carnivorous plants alive and well.

I just looked over the VFT Care page. I seem to be doing everything the guide says so I'll wait and see what happens with this plant. I leave my plant sitting in a dish of distilled water all day because it's hot and mostly dry here. I'll keep reading through the guides and the forum to see if something clicks.
