I call this the "repot sunburn" and it is a normal and temporary reaction of sudden sunlight exposure on parts of the plant that were previously covered in growing medium and/or dead black leaves.

When splitting and repotting clusters of plants, picking away black mushy material from around the leaf bases and rhizomes is a good practice. This will reveal a normal white color on the bases of the newly-exposed leaves: upon sunlight exposure, the red sunburn will appear for a few weeks.
