How do I harvest seeds, the flower wilted and the bulb turned black, and then it opened revealing seeds... what now?

get something to collect the seeds like a bag or cup. then i guess you could tap the bulb and the seeds should fall easily.

I usually snip the seed pod off and hold it over a cup or something else to catch the seeds while I rake something across the top of the pod to dislodge the seeds.

0h i was about to say that but i was afraid i was wrong. also would it still strike of you cut it and plant it?

I've tried using flower stalks to grow new plants after they've set seed and it's not worked for me. They only seem to work for that when they're young.
