So a very generous soul on another forum sent me a micro-mini orchid of which he had an extra. This is the box it came in:

I strongly suspect the box was originally cube-shaped. Amazingly enough, the plant was -- though a bit dry -- okay.

It takes talent to mess up a box that badly.
It kind of reminds me of the Gorilla commercial made by American Tourister luggage, first saw it around 1970 or so.

I'm glad the contents survived.

I think the postal person was angry and just squeezed the box, just to be a jerk. Jerk. Lol It doesn't look smashed by a 70 pound box, it looks squeezed. Geez

I used to work for one of the major shipping companies. I doubt someone did this to your box on purpose. This is inevitable when hundreds of boxes are traveling in a belt to the same trailer. Some of them are bound to get damaged. If you are shipping something valuable make sure to get insurance. If you are shipping something irreplaceable make sure it is packaged correctly.

Wow. There are no words...

Looks like it was drop kicked a few times. It's a miracle the orchids survived at all.

I agree you should package it properly.
Granted this was many years ago, but I worked for a PO distribution center and
Iwas literally directed to take boxes off a convarer and toss the boxes through the air and into open bags. Of course some
missed the bag. And of course there was a concrete wall we bounced the boxes off to get them in a bag. And yes inevitably there are casualties.

Unfortunately, no. Alas, without the tracking number there is no way to find it. :( That's why it is always wise to get a tracking number whenever sending or receiving a package.

I am very sorry. My minis are still suffering from the shock of division, so I couldn’t do replacements. I am sooooooo sorry. If you’re wondering, all plants that you sent are doing great, especially the monolena primuiniflora. It dropped all leaves except one, then grew 19 in a week. I don’t know how that’s physically possible.

Yeah, that's the prob with micro mini's .... takes time to get any size on them.

With any future trades you do, make sure you get and keep the tracking number of any packages you sent out. That way, if they do go astray, at least there will be a chance of finding them.

Glad to hear the plants you received are doing well!
