Hi,

when i take some leafs from a sterile plant culture (cut with scalpel) and i transfer this leafs on new fresh media, gives it bleedings? I mean from the cutting place which i do into the media?

Should i place the cutting place into the media or outside (upside of the media surface)?

Can it sprout out without hormones?

I hope you understand my english.....

best regards from germany

It depends on many things.. size of cutting, media formulation, light, solid or liquid media and especially wich plant species. All cuttings act in vitro the same like in vivo, if a species can be propagated in vivo by leaf cuttings, then this species will to the same in vitro - without hormones.

Hello Toby, It can bleed, but it wont hurt the new plantlets you resolve it when you replate the new plantlet fresh media.
