Hello guys so I've decided I want to move away from fluorescent lighting into Leds and I'm in a tough spot. In my search for a new led light fixture I stumbled upon the toggled brand which offers both a specific grow light fixture that is full spectrum and offers what seems very little information on the lumens of the lighting itself. Also they offer a regular led shop light fixture which is 6500k daylight temperature and produces a total brightness of 8000k lumens for the ultra high output model. I'm really leaning for the second option as I really don't like the purple lighting color of full spectrum and really enjoy the white colors so I can enjoying looking at my plants comfortably. Would the second option work even if it isn't designed to grow plants? Here are pictures of both in order and their respective links. On a unrelated notice my D. affinis namibia is currently throwing a flower stock so I'm thinking of both hosting a future seed giveaway as thanks for helping me out in this dilemma and donating seeds to the seed bank.

I often use LED shoplights for CP.
I've had no problems with them.
8000 lumens should be bright enough.

Full spectrum doesn't necessarily mean purple/blue lighting. I'm like you, I want to see my plants in a more natural color. The non-"focused" light should work okay. Seems like some nice lights. I'm just wondering how much better they would be over this $30 7000 lumen light from Walmart?

Costco sells a 2-pack of some 3-panel 8000 lumen led "garage" lights for less than $30 (sometimes down around $23-$24). I've been pleased with them using some basic "weather-proof sockets" wired into an extension cord and hanging them from above. I had one panel to go out on one of the units and the manufacturer responded quickly with a replacement.

For More $$$ is my Viparspectra XS1000 panel lights (...the plants have responded very well to the one I currently have hanging. Around $80 at Amazon right now (usually $99.99).

Just some options.

I grow all of my intermediate neps under shop lights and they still get too much light.

I'm unsure but wow! I didn't know there were some cheaper options too bad they're out of stock. I'm going to place my order on the non-focused ones to try them out. Also I really like how the led bulbs can be replaced if anything goes wrong and based on the picture the fixture seems to fix my current T5 stand perfectly which is a plus.

I use these 70W leds with good results above 4' X 18" wire shelves - the lights generate almost 250 PPFD each of full spectrum light with a decent spread.

Dan, those look like some pretty nice lights and a great price!!! I wish I'd seen these before buying my LED shop lights at Wallyworld a couple of years ago when I retired my florescents. Powerful and light from end-to-end. How long have you been using your current ones? What color is the visual light?...it looks like white when I look at the pictures.

I wish they were available in 2 foot. I like the dimmable feature.

Ah, I thank you. For some reason I thought these were dimmable. It must have been one that was linked to in this ad.

I cranked my three 4' shop lights up yesterday, they had been off over the winter...I moved all my sleeping plants to that shelf. Well, they weren't exactly sleeping...they were all poking a sleepy spot of green up to see if it was time to get up so I figured it was time (at least for me, I don't know about them ). If I had another shelf I'd be sorely tempted to try two of those Dan V linked to.

They are still talking snow and freezing around here. I think I still have a couple weeks.

Its been snowing here this pm and its 17 degrees f right now. Supposed to get down to 11. My VFT in my cooler in the garage will only get down to 34.5 due to a heat mat and a smart thermostat. It was 60 a day or two ago.

According to the cheap app on my smart phone, when using all 8 lights on one shelf they produce about 350 ppfd at a distance of about 8 inches... but over an 18" x 4' area. So they're good for low growing plants like cephs, vfts, pings, and such.

My only complaint is that the leds throw a lot of light off to the sides and would be more efficient if they were all directed down. Still, plants seem to grow very well under them.
