Different "T" bulbs

Ive looked at several sites to find information, but i just wondered if someone has had experience of them all (pros and cons).

T5, T8, T12 etc.

I don't have experience with all of them but I am prettysure that T5 are pretty inexpensive and productive compared to those other 2. I am not entirely sure though.
