Nice ceph :) ! What sort of environment do you give it? I grow mine outside, the pitchers are beautifully dark but it just grows so painfully slow  !!!

Thank you :)

I keep it in a small terrarium under six 6500K T5 lights. The surface of the soil is about 5 inches from the lights. The temperature fluctuates but is generally always under 80F. At night the temps are anywhere between 50F and 60F. I put four large frozen ice packs in there every night to achieve the temperature drop. Humidity fluctuates as well but is always 50% or above. As for air movement, I have a small fan blowing directly on the front of my terrarium all day. There are small vents on the front that allow some of the breeze to enter without drying everything out. I have covered the entire bottom of the terrarium with a couple of inches of hydroton that I keep saturated with distilled water at all times to keep humidity up.

I've noticed that this ceph has really started to grow much faster since I trimmed off a couple of old pitchers. I guess it's because the plant is no longer trying to maintain the old, inefficient leaves and can now focus on creating new ones!

I love when cephs are dark red! You should post some pictures.

Thanks for the compliments :D .
coline wrote:snap traps, what is that variety, where did you get it from?
This is just a typical I bought from an online seller. The colouration was achieved under cool and sunny conditions. I've also got a typical d. Scorpiodes which is also turning red  . It costs to look this good though. My ceph haven't grown for 3 months :( .

My other cephs don't grow as well as this one. I just got lucky I suppose.

I took some old leaves for pullings off mine, lets see if it also gets a growth burst :D
Maybe! Mine seemed to benefit from it. I do feed it beta pellets. Just one or two per pitcher every few weeks. When a new pitcher opens I put a pellet in.
